Match report As a result of their unbeaten 2nd place in Division 1, Eastcote played Division 2 winners Harrow St Mary's in a North Area play-off, the winners to take on Ealing in the County League quarter-finals.

Rahul won the toss and decided to bat. All the Eastcote batsmen struggled on what looked like a slow wicket. A total of 98 for 7 was posted in 20 overs, Shezad top scoring with 15.

HSM got off to a flying start and looked to be cruising to an easy win. Brilliant catches from Ashane and Rahul gave Eastcote hope, although at 73 for 3 after 10 overs defeat looked inevitable. Tight bowling from the spinners and good fielding squeezed the pressure on HSM. With the run rate dropping and wickets falling, HSM limped over the line on the 5th ball of the 20th over.

Cricket is full of 'what ifs' and there were certainly many of those today!

Well done to Harrow St Mary's, who performed well for a Division 2 team. In fact the question on everyone's lips was how a team with 6 players from the 2013 Under 15 National Cup winning team, several county players and an England Under 17/Middlesex Academy player has found itself in Division 2? I'm afraid that's a question that probably will never be answered. Let's hope they've earned promotion to Division 1 for next season!

Well done to Eastcote Under 17s this season. It's been a very difficult season with availability (only 3 under 17s in the team today). We have been indebted to the under 15s, 14s and 13s who have stepped up and performed extremely well.
