Gubby Allen Final v Ealing v Eastcote CC U10A on Sun 04 Aug 2019 at 11am
Eastcote CC Lost By 1 run

Match report Ealing CC v Eastcote CC
On Sunday two giants of U10 colts cricket contested the Gubby Allen Final at
Lords.
With many Borough, Regional, County players playing in the game from both
sides, there was always going to be quality cricket being played on this special
occasion and cricket was always going to be the winner.
Both teams were well supported by parents/families/friends watching the
players play on this iconic ground.
This was the fifth time Eastcote have featured in the Gubby Allen Final in the last
seven years, an outstanding achievement and a true reflection of the strength our
colts section carries at this age group and I am sure we will keep on repeating
this success with a dedicated COACH!!!.

Eastcote won the toss and batted first as always but Ealing had their own game
plan and immediately started to make a huge impact on the game as Eastcote lost
couple of wickets in the opening 4 overs and only managed to score 10 runs
Krish Hirani & Atharv.
The second pair of Rahil Shah & Riyan Patel also found scoring difficult as Ealing
continued to bombard the batsmen with good lengths ball beating the bat many
times. Eastcote only managed to score 10 runs net and at the end of 8 overs the
total team score was only 20 runs.
Agastya & Ayaan Diddee pushed the score to 54 runs with bold hitting and with
the help of some loose bowling by Ealing. The Eastcote supporters were cheering
on every run by now and the momentum had shifted towards Eastcote in their
quest to get past the 100 run mark.
We were into our fourth pair of Zac Harvey (WKT) & Parth Malhotra in which
Ealing were able to reduce the flow of runs and restricted Eastcote to 20 runs off
4 overs. At this stage the team total was 74 runs.
Eastcote were in a reasonable position to make the final assault in the last 4
overs played out by Capt Kesavan Gunaseelan & our best batter on the day
Yajur Prasad.
The pair scored 43 runs in 4 overs to alleviate the total to 117 runs, which
seemed to be a good total to defend.
After a short break Ealing set about scoring the Eastcote total of 117 runs and
after 20 overs of their innings managed to score the required runs off the
penultimate ball.
Ealing thoroughly deserved the win with a strong finish but Eastcote also
deserved full credit for the perseverance and fight til the end.
