Eastcote Cricket Club was given the privilege to be the flagbearers at the opening ceremony of the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup at Lords on Sunday July 5th.  Eastcote were selected to roll out the Australian flag, but that didn’t stop the enthusiasm and sheer joy of being at Lords and walking on the ‘Hallowed turf’.   England sadly lost to Australia, but the girls thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic opportunity.  The team also received lovely comments on how smart their shirts were.  Eastcote Cricket Club was represented by Aneeka, Anisa, Saachi, Shreya, Dipa, Taylor, Mahi, Chandni, Marie, Keira, Kheya and our very own President Denise.

The 2025 league season has now ended and it has been a very successful one for our Saturday teams.

Our 1st XI have been promoted to Division 1 of the MCCL after spending 7 years in Division 2. Director of Cricket Ron Ettienne had a fantastic season and finished top of the individual table for leading wicket taker across the whole Middlesex league with 58 wickets and also scored 688 runs at an average of 76. He was backed up by a strong team that comprised a core of young players who have come through the ECC junior set up which bodes well for the future. Congratulations to captain Dan Travers and his squad.

The 2nd XI had a great start to the season and spent the early part at the top of the table. They were in contention for promotion all the way through the season until the penultimate round of matches when they just fell short but still making a big improvement on last years 8th place finish.

The team was led by Amaan Lakhani who did a great job in his first year of captaincy.

The 3rd XI led by Shalin Thanki were worthy Champions of their division as they topped the league table for pretty much the entire season. A combination of youth and experience proved to be the right recipe for success with the whole squad contributing at various points of the season which made the 3’s success a real team effort. Congratulations to Shalin and his squad.

The 4th XI had a very difficult first half of the season and found themselves bottom of the league at the halfway stage. However, an excellent finish to the season saw them win their last 5 matches to finish a respectable 7th in the league table. Under the guidance of skipper Sachin Ghogle the 4’s are an excellent starting point for juniors to begin their journey into senior cricket with Leo Sharpe, Sam Joshua and Abdul Alam and many others benefitting greatly from the experience.

For the first time in 10 years we had two Sunday teams representing ECC in the Chess Valley League this year.

The Sunday 1’s led by Path Rasan had a difficult season due to sketchy availability and ended up finishing 7th in Division 2.

The Sunday 2’s entered the league for the first time this year and under the leadership of Presh Vartak had a solid season finishing 6th in Division 4.

The challenge for next season is to improve availability on Sundays and get more players using Sunday cricket to improve their performance, play competitive games and is a great way for juniors to get their first taste of senior cricket.

Another successful 'ECC Funday' was enjoyed this August bank holiday. Thanks to everyone who supported the event. We had a fantastic turnout, and the weather was glorious—a perfect way to close out the summer of 2025. The Mayor visited and enjoyed the cricket competition and our beautiful surroundings. There were plenty of games, stalls, and food for both adults and children to enjoy. We even had a visit from the Fire Brigade.

Congratulations to our raffle winners! Mark Griggs of Kemps Construction won the first prize, an iPhone, and Daphne Bird won the second prize, a £150 Amazon voucher. Well done to both of you!
