With the start of the cricket season now only 2 months away we are making our plans for the next colt's season. As always we are looking for more helpers so we can deliver the best tuition. Before you decide this email is not for you - please read on. In addition to our coaches we do need additional helpers for our Friday night sessions. We are looking for volunteers from our players, colt's parents and social members. You don't need to be an experienced cricketer to assist as each group will have at least one coach, but need to be able to provide assistance to our 5 - 13 year age group.
At present we have offered renewal to all our colts from last year, but so we can take more from our waiting list we need to ensure we have the correct ratios of parents to colts. We therefore do need to have parents/helpers that would expect to be able to make at least 3 of 4 weeks over the season (20th April until 3rd August). If you don't think you could help this regularly, and we do need regular helpers before we can offer more places, we also have an "as and when" group, who are parents/helpers that may be able to help on an occasional basis.
ALL HELPERS must have DBS checks to assist. This we can arrange for you and is free of charge. It requires an online application and then a document check with our Child Welfare Officer. Because we need to have this all in place before the season starts, we need to do this over the next couple of weeks. We also recommend an online course which takes about 45-60 minutes which is for Safety with Young Children. This is compulsory for coaches but voluntary for helpers.
If you are interested please reply to this email with your Name, date of birth and email address and we will start the DBS process. If you would like to discuss further please either speak to one of the colt coaches if you know them or reply to this email with a telephone number and we will get one to phone you.
