It is with great sadness that we write to members to announce the death of our previous President Faisal Saleem last night. Our thoughts are with his wife Mona and his sons Stefan and Jean-Sebastian. As is usual Muslim custom the funeral will take place within 24 hours.
Faisal was one of our longest standing members having joined the club in the 1960s. He was our 3rd team captain during the 1980s and then had a long period as club treasurer. He subsequently became President of the club and after this was elected an Honorary Vice President by the members to recognise his dedication to the club.
After completing his playing days, he gave up his weekends to be a regular umpire for the teams. His sons both regularly played cricket for Eastcote and his wife Mona was a scorer. A true ECC family.
The family are hoping to invite members and friends to an evening to celebrate his life shortly.
