At our club we are always looking to improve our facilities – both inside and out. To do this we are always looking at additional ways to raise money. At present we are looking to increase sponsorship at the club. We had this year a very generous sponsor from our club member Amit Majevadia’s company Hollis Dental and we are now looking for other areas, and some suggestions are below.
But we do need a club member to take on the important role of Sponsorship Manager and the purpose of this newsletter is to seek a volunteer. This will involve putting together a document of what we can offer and then speaking to possible sponsors who have shown an interest. Initially this would be through club members, their families and friends and contacts they may have. It may therefore suit somebody who already has experience form their daily job, or possibly a university student where this experience may help their studies. Or, just someone that has a bit of spare time and wants to help the club.
Some ideas we already have, but there are probably lots more are:
- Scoreboard and scorebox advertising
- Signage around our nets
- Boards around the ground
- Website
- Our You Tube channel including live coverage of our matches
- Covers – very visible advertising
- Boundary wedges, stumps and match day sponsorship
(We do have restrictions as the ground is only leased and in a conservation area).
Some of this may be possible this year, and other areas could be lined up for next year. A cricket club who has invested time in this can be seen in this example .
