Eastcote CC News story

10th to 16th June weekly diary

10 Jun 2024

Hello everyone

I hope you are all well, apologies, but I am working on Island time and it is only just after 11am on the sunny, warm island of Barbados, hence the lateness of this email to you all.  I had the opportunity to watch 2 of the T20 matches, Scotland v Namibia, and England v Australia, the atmosphere at Kensington Oval was great on both occasions, a pity England lost, but always the next game.  Ok enough of my holiday, here is your weekly update.

If you are still unaware we have some great sponsorship opportunities at the club, you can sponsor a match ball for £25 a game or a player for £100 for the season, full details can be found on our website or you can contact Jason - our club secretary at secretary.eastcotecc.co.uk or Sophie our Sponsorship and Marketing Manager at sponsorship@eastcotecc.co.uk, have a think about it, it is a great way to support the club.

Our next big social event is SQUIRRELFEST, on Saturday 29th June - the evening will start once the home matches have finished, we will have live acoustic music; a cash bbq, any offers of food side dishes are more than welcomed, outside beer stand, Aperol Spritiz van, a lot of hard work is going on in the background to make this a great family event so put the date in your diary, bring the family and friends and wear your festival attire.

Last Tuesday - 4th June ECC hosted Sunrisers v Western Storm, it was going really well, then the rain came and stopped play, what was nice was having the ladies stay around, I had some lovely comments about how nice the club was, how if felt and looked like a proper cricket club-all good for us.  Also on Saturday 1st June we were able to field 5 teams which is brilliant.

Of the weekend senior matches only the 2nd team won their match, our 1st, 3rd and 4th teams unfortunately couldn't get over the line in theirs.  I don't have any results for the Sunday teams.  It was a mixed bag for our junior sides, our U11A just missed out by 1 run, our U15 girls and U12 sides also couldn't get over the line in their matches, our U13A, U15A, and U10A all won.
