Match report Eastcote entered the fixture against Ealing knowing that a loss would leave a lot of work to do if the title dream was to become a reality (cheesy I know). The pressure didn't tell one bit however as a relaxed and clinical Eastcote performance ensued. With several last minute pull outs in all teams the 3's looked a tad depleted compared to the origninal tuesday night side. However nearly every player took their chance brilliantly. It was a mainstay of the 3's this year, Gav Singh who shone primarily with the ball. He bowled superbly in tandem with Stanley early on and then, with Ealing threatening a large total through GSG and the 'flamboyant' Zaheer, Gav and this time Angers finished off the Ealing innings in fine style. 5-56 was a just reward for some probing, energetic bowling from Gav. Adam Maxted completed an extremely efficient last 10 overs from Eastcote as a fielding and bowling unit with a super run out to add to his 3 catches.

233 off 52 was going to be hard work but on the Eastcote batting paradise the total always seemed just below par. With Mansy pulling a hammy, Paul and Angers opened up and set a terrific precedent for partnership building. Every partnership produced substantial runs meaning that Ealing never built any momentum during the Eastcote innings. Despite Angad, Raj and Paul all getting out when set (Paul for a vital 67), Charlie Hobday showed nerves of steel to finish the game off with his skipper Frais. It really was an outstanding knock by the 14 year old in such an important game. Ultimately Eastcote won because they batted far better as a unit than Ealing did. The fielding had room for improvement as did certain area's of the bowling performance. Nevertheless a great and morale boosting win - well done to all who played.
