Match report The 4th team played their first home league game of 2011 and managed a fine win over Hayes 4s winning by 4 wickets.
Eastcote won the toss again and elected to field under the theory that they would be able to chase a total. Gav Singh and Chris Thom opened the bowling and maintained line and length putting the Hayes batters under pressure. Both Gav and Chris bowled well with Gav making the batsman play and miss on numerous occasions. The 20th over was completed with the score on 59 for 1 which put ECC in a good position.Spin was introduced in the 24th over when Aman Lotay came on to bowl. Aman struck in the 26th Over. Charlie Hobday came on to bowl and bowled very well again. Hayes rallied and were 160 for 4
after 42 overs but some spin bowling by Aman Lotay enabled
Eastcote to get control by restricting Hayes to 193 for 9 off
52 overs. Aman finished on 5 for 53 off 15 overs.
Eastcote set about the task of winning by batting positively
however lost Aman lotay for 19 when the score was 24.
Paul Manley soon followed but James Mans and Jean Saleem batted very well
before James was out for 43. JS continued to make 65 very well
supported by Sachin Wijeratne(19) leaving Charlie Hobday( 12no) and Mo saley(23no) to steer the side home. Well done to all that played AND
to Lily Lotay and Louise hobday for scoring!!!
