Match report Eastcote 4th XI got back to winning ways on Saturday with a thumping win over league leaders Beaconsfield winning by 9 wickets.
Winning the toss and electing to field Eastcote were soon in control with Danny Skilton's pace proving too much for the Beaconsfield top order. Danny was ably supported by the left arm over seam of Chris Thom.
Beaconsfield were soon 31 for 3 off 10.4 overs with Danny Skilton taking all 3 wickets for 10 runs.
After 14 overs with the score on 41 for 3 Danny(7-2-15-3) and Chris(7-3-13-0) were rested. New boy Carl McCarthy came on down hill and took a wicket with his 6th ball leaving the oppo on 44 for 4 off 15 overs. Beaconsfield rallied but the 4s keep good bowling/fielding discipline(good catches by Adam harding on the long-on boundary and a skier by Charlie Hobday) with Barry White bowling the dangerous looking Tamoor when the score was 87 off 26.2. Two more quick wickets fell on 90 leaving Beaconsfield on 90 for 7 off 29 overs. Martin Barry bowling their No 7 with one that nipped back from outside off taking leg!!
Beaconsfield No 9 swung from the hip and added another 42no until the spin master Peter Millward came on to pick up 2 for 8 leaving the oppo all out for 147.
Eastcote started the chase very well with Barry White and Charlie Hobday batting very sensibly taking the quick singles as well as finding the boundary. These two put on 51 before Barry White dragged one onto his stumps from outside off. Charlie Hobday (u15) continued to bat very well with Mo Saley at the other end and these two saw the 4s home winning by 9 wickets. Charlie Hobday finishing on a very good 70 not out and Mo Saley 21 not out.
The 4s are now currently third in the league only 8 points behind the top team.
