Eastcote travelled to Ickenham for another meeting of the two clubs for their return league fixture. The two Clubs have a habit of meeting more than once in a season. Their first meeting was washed out due to heavy rain in April and then they were drawn in the first round of the Cup and that was eventually decided by the National Lottery Bonus Ball draw favouring Eastcote, so both Clubs were keen to use this opportunity to pit their might against each other.

Eastcote won the toss and batting first, opened with Aaran Amin (27) and Akshay Kothari (1) only to suffer an early set back when Akshay was unlucky to be given out LBW when the score was on 13. The Eastcote batsmen found it difficult to adjust to the pitch and to build momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals and at one stage was precariously positioned at 75 for 7 after 14 overs with Luke O’Driscoll bowling well taking 3 for 21, and well supported by Bailey Hall 1 for 12 and Harmen Samra 0 for 27. However, a carefully controlled and well judged inning by Ashane Wijesuriya 3(0 not out) and later joined by Jamie Cohen 19 seized the advantage away from Ickenham with some lusty blows helping Eastcote to score a challenging 120 runs.

In reply, Eastcote’s opening bowling pair of Hemanshu Hirani and Omar Mohamed continued to maintain the upper hand with some fast and accurate bowling and with good leadership by Rahul Wijeratne combined with tactical field placing, Eastcote were able to maintain a stranglehold and dry up runs. Ickenham barely made the required run rate during their inning. Ickenham also struggled against the spin of Rahul (1 for 8) and Aaran Amin (1 for 10), most notably with Aaran bowling Luke O’Driscoll (35) with his very first delivery ensuring Eastcote were able to come through and win the match easily having been tested earlier.
