Match report This match was the boys first experience of playing adult cricket, I say that not because the opposition were adults but because the pitch they played on was the full 22 yards (apparently the groundsman / council had forgotten to cut a pitch of the right length, so the boys played on a full size pitch that had been played on the previous weekend.) In addition the pitch had been pretty cut up and the bowl jumped up a number of times from a good legth, one such ball hitting Tom Bannon on the helmet grill from a length.

Anyway, the match pitted top (us) verses second (Pinner), skipper Danesh lost the toss and was asked o put and duly lost his off stump 1st ball of the match and Nikhil Sharma soon followed to leave Eastcote at 4 for 2. Tom Bannon joined Thomas Hudson and they put on a sensible partnership of 74 runs, off 14 overs, in the circumstances. We couldn't score freely in the death overs as Pinner's opening bowlers came on and the innings finished on 97 for 6.

The Pinner batsman started well, putting on 23 runs for the 1st wicket before Thomas Goulde got an LBW decision and Tejas Patel bowled their No. 3, leaving Pinner on 41 for 2 after 10, needing 57 off the last 10 to win. Nikhil Shah and Saavan Shah then bowled economically in tandem, an obvious stumping by Thomas Hudson off Saavan not given much to the amazement of the players, spectators and scorers. Pinner could not keep up with the run rate and lost 3 wickets all to run outs in the last over. Generally all the bowlers did well except for a few wides, however the fielding and especially the bowling could be improved.
