Match report Eastcote won the toss and elected to field after seeing the state of the wicket which was a little spongy to say the least. From the first overs bowled by Danny Skilton and Aaron Philips this looked like a very good decision with the ball popping all over the place. Both openers Skilton and Philips bowling great spells ending up with 16-3-56-3 and 12-2-30-2 respectively. Chid “Mr Bloom” Chandler came into the attack bowling a great line prompting keeper Adam Holmes to come up to the stumps with some protection in the form of a helmet due to the uneven bounce of the wicket. Chid ending up with figures of 13-3-26-1. Adam Maxted also bowling well with figures of 11-2-44-1. Hillingdon Manor setting 155 to win from 48 overs, which seemed like a gettable total given the batting line up.

Eastcote coming into bat with Captain James Mans and Bretton “Budge” Bird. Things did not start too well with Mans playing all round a straight delivery (which apparently was moving all over the place(edit It moved miles , jm) this sent Will Bramble in to bat with the score at 13 for 1. Will looked assured until some confusion between umpire and batsman which ended up with Bramble walking for an LBW that the umpire did not give for 11.
New boy Jaz headed in and put on 16 with Budge until Budge was bowled for 26. In came James Fielding with the scores at 51 for 3. Fielding and Naeem were looking solid knocking around the ones and twos till on 102, Fielding decided to up the tempo and charge down the wicket missing and being bowled. In strolled Danny Skilton who was moved up the order for some much need pinch hitting, things didn’t start too well with a few balls flying past the stumps until Skilton got his eye in. Finally ending things with a straight six. Naeem ending up with 37 and Skilton ending up with 40, with the game won with 6 overs to spare.
