Marlow v Eastcote CC Saturday 4th Team on Sat 16 Jun 2012 at 1pm
Eastcote CC Won by 102 runs

Match report Eastcote lost the toss and were put in to bat by Marlow.
Eastcote started with skipper J Mans and JS Saleem both were looking comfortable against the new ball until skipper Mans clipped one to square leg on 10 with the score at 35. In walked inform batsman Danny Millward who with Saleem looked assured at crease (apart from a few wild swings at the ball and what can only be described as an attempt at the splits) until Saleem knocked one to midwicket on 26 which brought J Naeem to the crease. Naeem shared along time at the crease with Millward looking for the ones and twos with Millward looking for the big hits. They never really came except for two sixes. Millward ending on a well made 36 in tough conditions falling to a high full toss which he top edged to square leg. In came W Bramble who was looking for the singles with Naeem, until Naeem fell on 37. Next to bat was S Moody (who advised me his was going to “put him in the bush” as he was walking out to bat) which he very much did hitting a 2 sixes and 5 fours in his innings of 49. Meanwhile at the other end Bramble fell for 22. Holmes was next to join Moody at the crease just after being told by skipper Mans that the main aim was to get the team to 200 with 7 overs left the score was at 170. Holmes only getting to 10 before yorking himself trying to go for the big hit. With only a few overs to go Smith joined Moody and was hitting the ball cleanly but failing to find the gaps. Moody fell to bring Harding in for the last ball of the innings Eastcote ending up on 235 from 52 overs.

With the rain falling Eastcote were looking to finish the game as quick as possible as shown by wicket keeper Holmes’ “enthusiasm” in the first few overs. Opening bowlers Chid Chandler and Vikesh Patel bowling well Chid in the end going at 1.09 an over from his 11 and Patel going for 21 off his 6. J Naeem came into the attack with his own style by slipping from the first ball as he had no spikes on but came back to take 6 wickets 5 of which were bowled. He may have asked for more with his shouting of “catch it” when the ball was rolling along the ground but these were not given. Smith at the other end bowling spin and taking a wicket which could have been two if Adam Harding could have caught a dolly at mid on. Smith ending up with figures of 7-1-21-1 and the wicket of the oppo’s captain. In between all this there was great fielding from Js Saleem with 2 run outs and Harding with a run out. Naeem ending the game when the number 11 edge one behind which was athletically caught by Holmes. Eastcote in the end bowling Marlow out for 103. Naeem ending a great spell of bowling with figures of 11.3-0-42-6.

Another match report from the self titled "Athletic" adam holmes, just imagine how athletic he could be if his t-shirts allowed him the space to actually breath, maybe they just didn't have his size !
