Match report Eastcote U11A’s 1st Cup Match of the Season - Very close, but through to the Next Round!

Result - Eastcote Won by 25 runs
Eastcote U11A - 89 for 7 (20 overs)
Lohana U11A - 64 all out (19.1 overs)

This cup game was rescheduled to a busy Friday night at Eastcote, with the outfield quite wet under foot due to the recent heavy rain, making it tough going for both sides. Eastcote batted steadily, with only four 4's scored in the whole innings. The runs were grafted out, with some commendable running between the wickets to notch up the 1's and 2's, against a good bowling attack from Lohana taking 7 ECC wickets.

Lohana's innings looked promising, keeping up with the run-rate after 13 overs with only the loss of 3 wickets, but then came the collapse, with Eastcote taking 7 wickets in the next 6 overs with some excellent bowling by Kailum and Zak, and some superb fielding with 3 run outs late in the game.

A big thank's goes to Jafer's dad for scoring on the night at such short notice, and well done to the boys for battling through a very close contest.
