Match report Eastcote batted first in the County Cup semi against Hampstead and prompty lost a wicket in the first over. Jamie and Arjun then put together a brilliant 88 run partnership scoring at 8 runs an over which put us in the driving seat. Arjun and Khizer were run out in quick succession but Jamie motored on before he was bowled for an aggressive 55, his maiden half century for Eastcote. Thereafter the boys had license to play their shots and bat Hampstead out of the game. Unfortunately wickets fell regularly meaning we couldn't score freely enough and ended on 141 for 9, 20 runs shy of where we should have been given we were 78 for 1 at the half way stage.

Hampstead batted steadily at the start of their innings, not losing wickets but falling behind the run rate with every over. Sarthak bowled both set openers in the 11th and 13th overs and left Hampstead needing 80 runs off 7 overs, a tough ask.

Eastcote took 4 more wickets and Hampstead finished on 97 for 6 off their 20 overs. Unfortunately the bowling wasn't at its best today and 26 runs were conceded in wides and no-balls. This may cost us the game in a low scoring affair, with each and every bowler guilty of giving away extra runs.

A win and we proceed to the County Cup Final on the 11th of August against reigning Champions Indian Gymkhana.
