Ickenham 100 for 5 in 20 Overs, Eastcote 104 for 2 in 17.5 overs.

An assured half century from opening batsman Omar Mohamed (53 no), including a 67 run third wicket partnership with Philip Lloyd (21 no), and a fine spell of left arm fast bowling by Hemanshu Hirani 3 for 11 off 4 overs enabled Eastcote to beat Ickenham by 6 wickets in their North Area Division 1 match and claim maximum league points.

In complete contrast to the previous two weeks, cricket resumed in warm and sunny conditions, and with Ickenham losing their previous encounter to Eastcote in the Cup, the tie was finely poised for a rematch against a spirited Ickenham side playing at Ickenham.
Ickenham elected to bat first having won the toss. Luke O’Driscoll (41) and J Ghandhi (42 no) batted well but the Ickenham batting failed to gather any moment despite Eastcote’s fielding lacking its usual military precision, summed up by some wayward bowling by the spinners and a couple of missed chances, a catch off the bowling of Alex Cole at long off, and a caught and bowl by Aanand Daryanani, Ickenham never went through the gears drawing the innings to a close on 100 in their allotted 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. The pick of the other bowlers for Eastcote were Alex Cole 4-1-6-0 and Philip Lloyd 2-0-9-1.
In replay, despite a gift of a wicket by opener Aaran Amin stumped wandering out of crease and a loose drive by Hemanshu Hirani, caught at mid-off, Omar Mohamed and Phillip Lloyd maintained the required run rate to see Eastcote home safely with 2 overs to spare.

A good win nevertheless but much more will be desired in future.
