Match report Eastcote B played Ickenham A in a North Area play-off match on a very hot evening. Ickenham won the toss and elected to make Eastcote field in the heat.

Ickenham's talented openers Luke O'Driscoll and Jash Ghandi got Ickenham off to a flying start with a partnership of 67 off 7 overs. Spinners Divyam and Aqib managed to reduce the run rate, and Aqib broke the partnership thanks to a good stumping from Tom H. Luke continued to take on the bowlers, with good support from George Mitchell and Bayley Hall. Eastcote's fielders struggled with the very difficult outfield, and also put down several, albeit difficult, catching chances. Ickenham finished on an impressive 187 for 3 off their 20 overs, with Luke completing a brilliant century on the last ball. On a positive note, Eastcote kept the extras down to a modest total.

Eastcote got off to the worst possible start, losing Saavan, Akshay and Tom H cheaply in successive overs, with spinner Alfie Fuller taking 2 wickets. Nikhil steadied the ship, despite a barrage of good-humoured sledging from the fielders. Shivam and Tom G dug in, but were out with Eastcote needing 15 an over. Nikhil and Imaad then put on 62 to give the score some respectability. Both were out in the last over to incredible catches off the bowling of Krissie Mistry, who finished with 4 wickets. Imaad was caught on the boundary by Alfie for 25, and Nikhil caught behind by a diving George for an excellent 43, arguably his best innings for Eastcote. Eastcote finished on 104 for 8 off their 20 overs.

Eastcote should be proud of their achievements this season. They lost to a very talented, well organised Ickenham team, who could go a long way in the County League this year.
