Eastcote won their 4th toss of the Chess Valley League (7 matches in all). The toss winning team batted first in all 7 games.

A superb opening stand of 133 (16.4 overs) between the hard hitting George Horsley (78 off 47 balls with 16 fours and 1 six) and the steady Jean-Sebastien (John) Salim (88 off 105 balls with 12 fours) set the tone. Akhil Sofat failed for once but then Ashane "The Boss" Wijesuriya strode in at 4 with ECC 168 for 2 (20.1 overs): started slow (a bit worse for the wear from the season ending party the previous night) and then bossed it to slam a brilliant 107 (caught long off on the last ball) with 11 fours adn 1 six off just 70 balls. At 357 for 4 in 45 overs at around 8 runs per over Eastcote had it all sewn up bar complacency.

Snehaan Das worked hard with the ball (6-0-33-3) as first change downhill, steady, accurate and cool. Arvind struck early with the new ball to take 2/29 off 3 overs.....then the young guns took over. Shaariq Sheikh effected a run out, took 2 catches and a wicket off his only ball.


Eastcote hammered Harefield by 207 runs to close the season with a bit of pride. However, Harefield played with 9 players.
