Match report After persistent showers threatening to cancel play passed on, this team's first outing together produced a great result with Eastcote beating out Bessborough by 6 wickets. Winning the toss, Eastcote captain Nikhil Kochhar opened the bowling, followed by Shae Behzadi, which saw the fall of the first and only wicket of the innings (A Patel dismissed by Run Out by Nikhil). Bowling duties were complimented nicely by Wicket Keeper Shubham Sahu's very safe hands. The team worked well together on the field, and kept the opposition's batting efforts supressed to only allow two 4's. After some strategic spin bowling between Svanik Chadha and Aryan Modi keeping the run rate down, Riyan Malcolm came closest to a maiden over, conceding only one run during his over. Bessborough's K Ankadwala, captain B Lal, and A Natarajan were all Retired Not Out to make room for M Patel and Y Mana to close the innings with a respectable 85/1.
Batting was opened by Svanik and Yusuf Merali, who unfortunately was out for a duck (bowled V Narayana). Bessborough's own Hawkeye, backstop D Kairys made quick work of Svanik as he and Nikhil tried to sneak some cheeky singles in, and later again with a phenomenal direct hit at the bowler's end to send Aryan back to the locker room, but not before V Narayan claimed another victory against Nikhil (caught by A Patel). Shae stepped up to the crease and provided some stability for the second half of the innings, and worked very well with Riyan to secure a comfortable win for Eastcote, with six wickets and 2.4 overs to spare.
