Match report Eastcote CC (playing with 10 men) lost their first game this season with a target of 315 being a bridge too far.

Bowling: Jazib Naeem and Snehaan Das were superb with the new ball and Dheeraj Kataria great at the death.

Batting: Jazib Naeem and Snehaan Das carried the can with the bat too and Rashard had a rare failure after a quick start.

MATCH REPORT:

Next game (number 12) we lost Tom just before the game and played with 10. Ruislip pulled out and a strong West London came in. We had weakened the team a bit in selection for Ruislip and our bowlers got hammered for 314/5 (45 ov). The reply never got going after Rashard fell early and although u-13 Dillan Shah showed promise with a flurry of boundaries in an adult debut one-drop score of 20; we were up against it. Jazib Naeem (56) and Snehaan Das (40) put on 106 for the 4th wicket but other than a defiant unbeaten 17 by Ayaan Sheikh, that was pretty much it as we holed to be 231 for 9 (all out) in 38.5 overs. Down to the earth with a thud! The all-win (no loss) record was gone and our dreamy endeavour to win every game in the season was shattered and broken. We woke up a bit. After all, what goes up must come down. Now it was up to us to recover quickly and return to our winning ways with 4 league games left to play. We were top of the league but 2 wins out of 2 meant nothing really in a league of 6 games.
