Match report Game One and game on under pitch vision cameras at Acton CC. Eastcote opened the batting with Professor-in-disguise Saurav Sen and Krish Patel. Sen made 14 and one-down Shashank Kurra smashed a disciplined 29 at one-drop. Then there was a mini collapse as the pitch vision cameras distracted the ECC champs until Minesh-coached Vikesh Patel hit a bright 15 and Joseph Wilcox a brighter 16 with an apologetic smile. Young u-12 Jamie Waller ended with 8 not out on his adult debut. Eastcote ended teasingly on 99 after 26 of the allotted 40 overs; to set Acton a 3 figure target. Acton did it with ease with their Saturday first team keeper Alex Manning smashing an unbeaten 50 as opener. 16 overs was all that were needed so the lads were able to double back home before Denise’s gorgeous (read: sumptuous) MCC game teas were done. They missed lunch by a whisker. Saurav Sen picked up the lone wicket to fall, peering uncertainly through his bespectacled glasses to make sure he saw what he saw.
