Match report The T20 was on and Eastcote batted first. GSG (25) and Ayaan (16) opened, Rashard fell for 21 at number 3 but then Krish Patwal (50 not out) and Jazib Naeem (45 not out) took us from 74/3 (9.2 overs) to 172/3 (20 overs), putting on 98 run off 64 balls. The bowlers were all superb when we defended our score, as Rash shouted encouragement from behind the stumps; and we set boundary cutting fields to never let them get a whiff. We silenced them for 140 all out (19 overs) with even u-14 Purab Garg getting an over on Sunday debut as Will Bramble decided that one game was enough and ceded his T20 place to the youngster. Jazib Naeem (4-0-23-2) and Nilesh Pandya (3-0-27-2) opened the attack, followed by Snehaan Das (4-0-24-1), GSG (4-0-26-3) and Anmol Chopra (3-0-17-0). Job done!! West London beaten 2-1 on season aggregate and a 20-game Sunday (league-cum-friendly) campaign ended with 5 straight one-sided wins at the end; to notch a tally of 17 wins vs 2 losses. It was good that we kept up standards and went on winning comfortably even after grabbing the league because winning is a habit which has to be strengthened until one forgets what losing feels like. I was very happy the lads didn’t take their foot off the pedal until the last ball of the season.
