Did we make it to the North Pole ?

07 Jun 2020

Dear All,

On May 4th during the midst of uncertain times for the Club and the NHS. Many of us in whatever way we could embarked on a virtual journey to the North Pole!! Approximately 10,000km from Southill Lane we set what could have been an impossible target. But the ECC community got together and between 69 of us, we managed to make it to the North Pole by June 4th raising £2217!

In that time 69 of us have walked, cycled and ran a combined 10,433.37KM.  We took approximately 76,489.10 minutes to cover the distance. Taking a total of 1334 activities to do so. Amazing efforts from every single one of you involved. It has certainly helped me and i know from messages from many that it has got them active and excited to continue to do so!!

Our biggest contributor was Tim Budd who cycled a total of 793.10KM. While Tim’s KMs on the bike are amazing for a month we’ve had some amazing group efforts by the families of ECC. Including the Roans, The Hobdays, The Travers, The Hudsons and The Elliots. I would like to name check every single one of you but I would like to say the biggest thank you and congratulation to all of you! Was a pleasure seeing you all on Strava. Keep it up long after this challenge. Full rundown of the stats can be found here.

But the reason we have done all this is to raise money for the NHS and the club! Both experiencing extra stress during the pandemic and we hope this will be of some help! Big thank you to all that have donated it is greatly appreciated! If you would still link to donate the JustGiving page is still open and you can donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ecc-northpole.

Stay Safe and Go Well
