Jim’s funeral is booked for 3 pm on Monday 3rd August at Breakspear crematorium. Due to current Covid restrictions and protocol, numbers will be limited for the service itself. A few long-standing members of the club including our president have been invited by the family.
Unfortunately, many people from ECC will not be at the crematorium who would have been there for sure in normal times. However, Jim’s daughter Helen has said that it was Jim's wish for the cortege to pass along Southill Lane on its way there pausing briefly near the club. This will happen shortly after 2.30 pm and all are welcome to be there to say goodbye.
There will be a small gathering at the club, probably later in August attended by Helen, her husband Paul and children Holly and Mark. Additionally, and possibly in November if hopefully the current social restrictions are lifted, there will be a larger event at the club to celebrate Jim's life and his support and affection for the club.
There will also be a bench to be placed at the ground as a lasting tribute.
