Match report The Second win of the 2023 season for Su2s!

Again, a great team-work in all the aspects of the game… All team-members played to their specific roles with best of their abilities.

Batting first, ECC Su2s batters started on a first footing. Ravi and Presh put up a solid 134 run partnership for second wicket. Kunal walked in to play his first ball of the season after Presh fell scoring 46. Naveen Chandel stepped in soon after when Ravi walked back to pavilion scoring handsome 80 runs. The new pair of batters took the attack to the next level with Naveen reaching his 50 in less than 25 balls and Kunal scoring 22 retired. Manish joined Naveen contributing 5 runs

Then was the turn of our pace bowlers – Yuvi and Tom opened their spells with fiery attack! Opposition’s openers were uncomfortably remained restricted to a 4rpo. That set us for the first change at both ends. Manish another pacer began well and Kiri – one of our spinners – gave us the first break-through.

Then Ravi and Vinayak joined Kiri to make most of the spinners’ pitch! Kiri claimed 2, Ravi 3 and Vinayak settled for 1 wicket. However, it was the spinners’ ability to restrict runs that mounted pressure on the opposition.

In the death overs, asking run-rate was over 9. One batter in the opposition then opened his bat to score at will. Yuvi took-up the challenge and massively restricted him whilst claiming 3 wickets and a run-out.

Harry William was outstanding in the fields putting his body on line!

Vikram Bahl was superb behind the wickets saving at least 20 runs for the team!

Very fiercely fought and brilliantly team-worked game! Results took care of themselves…
